Welcome to Starbrite!

We are a closed roleplay group set in an original universe that includes magic, wishes, magical girls, and lesbian drama. This site is an archive of the amazing worldbuilding, art, and writing that our members have made over the years! Starbrite (at least the version we currently use) was made in 2023 by a group of friends who wanted to write something magical, and it has grown into an enormous and lifechanging project. There's a lot to see in this big beautiful fictional world, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we loved making it!

This site is very much a work in progress. Nevertheless, we're really proud of what's up so far. Keep an eye on the site updates to see what the webmasters have been working on!

Site Updates

4/22/26 We've got portraits and placeholders up for all the characters on the NPC page! Not everyone has art so I had fun sourcing some aesthetic moodboard placeholder images for each of them. More of our characters' pets have art than their parents, which is fun. Next step is writing one billion descriptions for the NPC/Main Character pages. Woooo!

4/21/26 Today is for working on the Starbyverse page! The page's content itself isn't complete, because I'm still going through every RP and scouring them for all the one-off jokes so I can codify them into an insanely comprehensive list. Sort sort I love to sort. However, since that's going to take a million billion years, I am going ahead and calling this page done and taking off the Under Construction gifs. Hooray!

EDIT: I went ahead and got the Perla Point page presentable! That means we are up to 6/9 (nice) pages done! Let's fucking gooooo!!!!!!

4/14/26 Double-updating today because the cast page now has PICTURES!!! Thanks to Oskie katkitters the hero of our world, we now have as many 100x100 character portraits as we could ever want. The characters who still need art have been given more personalized placeholders as well. Hopefully tomorrow we can get some descriptions done! I also wrote a couple of opening paragraphs for the Lore page and it's as done as it's going to be for now. That means we're all the way up to four out of nine pages complete! Or, at the very least, complete enough to take the Under Construction gif off of them. My metric for that is when all Lorem Ipsum and placeholder images are off the page. They'll still be edited after that, of course, but that's a good criteria for now.

4/14/26 The Cast page is up! All characters currently in use are on there. That's more than fifty characters! We've got all relevant links (artfight, toyhouse, playlists) on each character as well as name, alias, and pronouns. Now all we need to do is get together the hundred-odd character portraits and write up a description for each character. Easy peasy! Also, the individual character links are no longer on the links page, which is now for linking the people in Starbrite who want to be on here. We have a lot of other people in the group, but not all of them have asked to be linked.

4/13/26 We've got a Links page now! If you're in Starbrite and you want to put some links up here, let me know! Otherwise check out the tumblrs, toyhouses, and artfight pages of our beloved members. I've also got all the individual character pages linked if you want someone in particular. Today I'll hopefully start making headway on the list of characters today. Test emoji! 🍒

4/11/26 The webmastery has been opened to Jude and Oscar, who are the heroes of this world for the enormous amount of admin work they do for Starbrite. We've made a few minor aesthetic changes (new sidebar and footer! the bullet points are stars now!) and the placeholder links in the sidebars on the pages have been transformed into links that actually navigate the pages they're on. Also I found a cute new home button to put on the sidebars. More importantly, though, we've got some actual structure on the pages that need it. The NPC page now has actual sidebar text and is divided into novas, rogues, and civilians, with placeholder profiles for each section. The Perla Point page has sections too! And, if you can believe it, the Timeline page has been divided up into its subcategories by month with working links to each. This is only the beginning of the herculean effort that the timeline is going to be, but it's a good start!

3/29/26 I've been hard at work putting flesh on the bones of this site and it's going pretty well! The FAQ is 100% done (barring whatever aesthetic changes I end up making to the overall format), the Lore page and the Starbyverse page are both nearly done, and the Cast page's formatting is done even if its actual content is gonna take forever and a half. Momentum has begun! I'd also like to add a Links page to potentially link to other sites like Toyhouse or put this site in a webring. That can be later, though. I made some potato soup tonight and it's almost ready. Later taters!

3/28/26 It's half an hour past my bedtime and on Jude's excellent advice I have gone ahead and copy/pasted the FAQ into its own page. The formatting isn't done but it is at least legible! Now I have to go to bed for real.

3/28/26 Hello, world! Today the Starbrite Website was made by everyone's favorite webmaster, Laura "Cooldragons" Houndsoflove. We currently have a landing page, a home page, and five more pages linked on the sidebar. None of them have anything in them, of course, but the html is there and the placeholder images have begun to proliferate. I've been ruminating on this project for some time now and I'm glad it's finally time to get started! Watch this space for more updates whenever I remember to work on it. I might even get it done before my personal website is done, lmao. This one has WAY less scope creep. And I'm saying that knowing full well I'm going to be updating the timeline by hand. Let's get to work!
